Texel ewe and lambsAll the girls have been scanned and we are really pleased with the results.  About 50/50 between singles and twins and one set of triplets.  The breeds we have are Coloured Ryelands, Ryelands and Blue Texels.

The fun is due to commence from 4th February onwards, so we are delighted to announce that lambing courses will take place all of February.   We are a friendly pair and welcome all - whether it is just to experience the day in the lambing shed to those who ar preparing to lambing their first sheep.

If interested then fee is £100 and day starts at 10am or earlier if you wish and ends about 4pm, depends on what is happening in the lambing shed.  Information pack to take home and also a Q&A at lunchtime by Steve to see what you have learned during the morning.   Lunch, afternoon tea provided.

We are really delighted with the quality of the lambs born in 2023.  We have a few quality available lambs for sale.

Two well bred pedigree and regstered Coloured Ryeland Ram Lambs.  One born from our Oakberrow flock (Whites) with excellent lines, sire Strata Sigzag.  The other from our Coddington flock by our homebred ram Coddington Beemer who has Snelson, Derwen and Montgomery lines.

We also have a small selection of Blue Texel ewe lambs available by our Westwood bred ram, includong lines such as Hackney, Blue Stone, Nantyderri.

Well worth a visit to Oakberrow to view.

LAMBING COURSES 2023 - DATES SOON TO BE ANNOUNCED

Ewes being fed Blue texels, ryelands and coloured ryelandsSummer is over, rams have been in with the ewes and been busy doing their work.  We will be scanning shortly and after then the lambing course dates will be announced.  We anticipate lambing to start Mid Feburary.  If you start lambing before then we can still accommodate you, you may not see any lambing on the day but we can cover all aspects, including photos giving detailed lambing.

The breeds we have are Blue Texels, Ryelands and Coloured Ryelands but Steve has an overall experience of lambing and a welath of knowledge to offer to you.

The courses this year went really well and the trainees really enjoyed their time and went home feeling confident to tackle their own lambing.

Cost £100 per person and includes lunch and an information pack to take with you.

We have become an Accredited Flock for all breeds due to the Blue Texels.  However those who are interested in buying stock they are also available to non accredited flocks.  The MV Accreditation does mean they have a high health status.

The show season is well underway but would like to point out that we do have courses for showing sheep and also if you are buying your first sheep then attending one of our husbandry courses could be of interest to you.
